What is Dry Body Brushing?
Dry Body Brushing involves sweeping upward strokes using a natural bristle brush starting at the feet and moving up the body towards the heart. Today across the worlds destination spa’s dry body brushing is widely used, but the ritual is far from new, it is over 5000 years old and has deep roots in Ayurveda.
In Sanskrit it’s called “Garshana” and was traditionally performed using natural bristle brushes or linen gloves to energise and stimulate blood flow.

Let’s talk about the incredible benefits…
-
Exfoliates and Smooths – removes dead skin cells and smooths unwanted dry areas. Skin feels softer, smoother and more youthful.
-
Detoxifying - will encourage your lymphatic system, helping the body to release toxins more effectively.
-
Better Circulation - stimulates blood circulation in the tissues which oxygenates the skin and leaves you feeling energised.
-
Better absorption of products - Enhances absorption of moisturisers, oils and creams when used as part of a ritual
Dry Body Brushing is also beneficial after periods of travel, and the compact size of the brush makes it easy to take it with you wherever you go. Sodashi’s Body Brush is made from luxurious walnut wood and natural vegan sisal bristles. The bristles come from the leaves of the agave sisalana plant which give a firm yet gentle exfoliation.
