Top foods for glowing skin

The old saying, 'you are what you eat' could not be a truer statement when it comes to skincare!

Here are some top superfoods to brighten and clear your complexion. And no – you don’t have to go to a random health food store in the middle of nowhere to find them.

  • Artichoke

Rumour has it these funny little things can help improve skin luminosity and can also improve your immune system. New best friend this winter?

  • Alfalfa

No, not the cute kid on the Little Rascals. That stuff that you sometimes find in the pre-packed salads (hey at least it’s a salad don’t judge!). Alfalfa is known to contain skin clearing nutrients such as calcium, magnesium and zinc. It is also absolutely packed with A, B complex, C, E and K!

  • Peppermint Tea

Try swapping this for your regular coffee. Not only does it aid in digestion but is known to remedy stress- an acne aggravator.

  • Water

Do we really need to explain this one? In short, drink more and flush out the toxins.

  • Brown Rice

Now we know white carbs are not the best for our blood sugar levels hence a ‘no-no’ for the skin, you can try swapping them for complex carbs such as brown rice. A rich source of vitamin B, protein and magnesium, as well as several antioxidants, we’re told it helps to regulate your sugar levels by releasing energy slowly throughout the day rather than all at once like processed carbs do.

  • Kale, avocado, green tea and salmon are also great skin clearers.

To give your skin the final first-class treatment we recommend a Sodashi serum used 2 -3 times a week before bed. The Sodashi serums are tailored to your skin type and are an intensive repair formula that infuses nourishing plant extracts deeply into the skin, restoring a youthful and radiant glow.
