Why is clay so good for the skin?
Natural Clay is a product that super-rich in minerals and antioxidants. It works to cleanse, tone and revitalize the skin.
At Sodashi we use a range of Argiletz clays in both our cleansers and face masks that are exactly as nature intended. Extracted from organic grounds in the South of France, they are carefully sun-dried to preserve the clay's mineral and vibrational qualities.
The skin loves Argiletz clays because they are jam-packed with loads of amazing minerals and antioxidants, including silica, magnesium, calcium and zinc, all of which are important to keep the skin glowing and blemish free.
Acting as a tonic, clays help to repair damaged tissue, refine pores, and work to gently exfoliate and tone the skin. Clays also stimulate the circulation to promote healthy new skin cells for preventing premature ageing, as well as help to balance the delicate pH of the skin.
So which clays do you use for which skin type? Green, White, Yellow or Pink?
- Green clay has a purifying effect on the skin to draw out toxins.

- White clay is a gentle clay that has soothing and refining properties.
Its generous zinc content gives the skin a real boost. It’s also ideal for sensitive skin that is prone to redness and flares up easily. Argiletz white clay is found in all Sodashi Facial Cleansers, our Deep Conditioning Hair and Scalp Mud, the Gentle Repair White Clay Mask.
- Yellow clay has a restorative effect to improve the overall colour and vitality of the skin.
It really brightens a dull, sluggish complexion and evens skin tone. It is, without a doubt, one of the best ingredients in the Sodashi range to repair sun damaged skin. Argiletz yellow clay is in our bestselling and totally amazing Brightening Marine Mineral Mask (a favourite of beauty guru Zoe Foster-Blake!).
- Pink clay improves the skin softness and has a toning and firming effect.
It is excellent to tone and firm the thighs, stomach and upper arms and is also a great treatment for stretch marks. Argiletz pink clay is used in the Sodashi Refining Body Wrap treatment at selected Sodashi spas. This treatment will leave your skin feeling firm, soft and silky smooth.
