How to transition your skincare into summer

As the temperatures increase and the long-awaited summer starts to arrive your skincare concerns can change.

Here are our top tips to transition your skincare into summer and keep your skin healthy and glowing all season long.

  1. Sun protection

A simple but essential step in optimal summer skin health; sun protection is a must! Wear a wide-brimmed hat, sit in the shade, layer on the SPF – whatever you do, this is your first step in preventing short and long-term damage to the skin.

  1. Lighten up on the moisture

While we all lather up on a good, natural moisturiser in winter, a more lightweight moisturiser not only feels more comfortable but can also hydrate without clogging pores in summer when you’re more likely to sweat.

We would recommend switching in our ultra-nourishing yet lightweight Balancing Face and Neck Moisturiser. With healing Spike Lavender and refreshing Lime, it works throughout the day to firm, heal and refine the skin.

  1. Up the antioxidants

More than just a buzz word, these compounds work to neutralise the harmful effects of free radicals; particularly useful in summer as your exposure to UV rays increases.

With Petitgrain, Sweet Orange, Cedarwood and Ylang Ylang, our Balancing Serum is positively packed with antioxidants to protect, heal and recharge the skin.

  1. Neutralise Skin Shine

Particularly in hotter or more humid climates, the skin shine and sweat situation can wreak havoc on the skin (not to mention, anything you layer on top!).  A mattifying primer, such as our Balancing Skin Boost or Recovery Skin Boost, works to lock in moisture while eliminating extra skin shine.

  1. Pay attention to the eyes

Extra sun (yay!) inevitably means that your eyes are naturally under more strain during the summer months. Along with wearing sunglasses, we would recommend paying extra attention to hydrating this area.

Use our ultra-nourishing Eye and Lip Smoother twice daily to firm, promote cell renewal and loc in moisture around the delicate eye area, or use as a primer before lipstick or balm.
